The attractive town of Chagford is nestled on on the North East side of Dartmoor, approximately 7 miles from Harepath Farm Barns. It is one of the original four Stannary Towns where tin was traded.
It is renowned as a stunning haven for artist and creative types with galleries and boutique shops to visit. You will be spoilt for choice for eating; there are boutique hotels, local pubs and inns, several tearooms, cafes and a wonderful delicatessen.
The Three Crowns at Chagford would be a favourite of ours with inglenook fireplaces, open beams and a stunning courtyard, its just the perfect setting to enjoy their delicious, locally sourced, seasonal food. For walkers and nature lovers there are miles of open moorland to explore with its stone rows and circles, clapper bridges and ancient dwellings etc, or for a contrast the beautiful River Teign which meanders around the village and on through the Teign Gorge overlooked by Castle Drogo owned by the National Trust and on to the beauty spot of Fingle Bridge. There is also the tranquillity of Fernworthy reservoir.
